Kilroy: NM or HM?
Today I started going for the Legendary Survivor title and Kilroy Stonekin's Punch-Out Extravaganza! seems to be the safest way. But the question is, should I do HM or not? I haven't had the time to test it out, but it seems it would be more beneficial to go NM. Although the exp gain is less, it feels like it's 3 times faster than HM and I don't have to worry about having dangerously high energy. Also using triple XP scrolls might even match HM without having to worry about the 30 seconds. I also toyed with the idea of clearing the first 3 waves in HM only to avoid the high energy and lengthy battles.
Assuming scroll money isn't a problem, which do you think would be the faster route to Legendary? |

HM definitely, getting like ~45k exp a run. The problem with NM is you have to do it so many times that it gets so boring. With HM you can bust it out in like 8-9 hours. For the second to last room, just run in right before kilroy does and the three will attack you. You and kilroy will almost always be attacking the same target if you just c+space after each target. You can kill faster then they can damage you and you can clear the whole room without wiping and kilroy will take no damage. The only time I ever die in that dungeon is if captain magma keeps interrupting my uppercut. I almost always finish before the LB scroll runs out so its under 10 mins per run.

Hm isn't too bad, and I recommend just running through all the way to end to fight. His speed boost skill will get you all the way through so you only have to fight the last guy and ettin. I never risked it, because my internet conn. lags too much. I think the survivor page explains it better.

Why would you want to skip all the fights? The point of the dungeon for a survivor is to get XP during fights, not to complete it as fast as possible by skipping most of the contents.
By the way, running through the dungeon is more dangerous than fighting through it, since in your accelerated speed your position is often more unclear due to lags and rubberbanding than in normal speed. I run through it with all of my chars when the dungeon is Zaishen bounty, and often I seem to be halfway through but I get damage and suddenly jump one compass range back and find myself knocked down. |

If your connection is shaky, farm the 10 frost wurms outside boreal station in HM. With scrolls it's 8k xp in ~5 minutes, and no chance of dying due to lag. I had a couple of disconnects going for legendary survivor, considering it takes quite a while it's not all that unlikely even if your connection is usually good.
You could always buy/farm hammers too. |
